1.经过特殊加工而成的食物叫做 dish 料理, 而像 breakfast 早餐, lunch 午餐, dinner 晚餐这种周期性的日常用餐则叫做 meal.

2.Diet 则指为了控制体重而制作的特定食品.  

3.Meal 空档吃的食品叫做 snack 零食. 有些女孩为了减肥, skip 省略正餐, 但是饥饿难耐, 只好猛吃一顿 munchies 小点心来充饥. 效果可想而知, 没瘦反而更胖了, 因为 cookies 饼干和 beverage 饮料是更容易使人发胖 gain weight 的食物. 其实一日三餐, 少吃零食, 减肥的效果才更好.
