Children should never be educated at home by their parents.

In some countries a small number of parents are choosing to educate their children at home rather than sending them to school. This may be for practical reasons, such as when a family lives a long way from the nearest school, or through parents' personal choice to take on the responsibility for their children's education.

Educating your children at home does seem to have a number of advantages. First of all,parents may be able to provide a more practical

education for their children than schoolscan, teaching skills needed in the real world such as home management or gardening. A child's own home is likely to provide a more relaxing atmosphere for study than that which a school can offer. Furthermore, parents are in a better position to keep Their children away from bad influences if they can keep watch over them at home. Thirdly, parents are often said to know what is best for their children.

However, there are many arguments in support of sending children to school rather than educating them at home. Children are isolated at home; at school they are given the opportunity to develop in a social context, and become accustomed to meeting people independently. Moreover, schools can provide professionally trained teachers and all kinds of educational facilities. Finally, parents are too emotionally 'close' to their children to make very good teachers.

In my opinion, education at school is preferable to education at home. There are special cases (for example, for disabled children) in which home education is the only option; however, for the vast majority of children greater benefits are gained by going to school.
